Young Villa player Jack Grealish
Born and brought up in Birmingham to Irish parents. Played for Eire U21's, but now may be called up by England.

On Twitter loads of Paddies are moaning about him potentially switching international allegiences - I think that might well be the definition of irony.

Not seen him play but his haircut gives me reason enough not to like him.

Played a handful of Villa games and being touted as the new Frank Lampard

fucking nora.

Looks a good player.

My opinion of International call ups is that you shouldn't be allowed to change allegiances, particularly after U21 level.

He got called up by Ireland and chose to represent them at U21 level - where were England at this time? bit rich now he looks good that they show interest.

It's bad enough at club level that the "big 4" take young players and usually end up letting them rot aka chelsea and Man City let alone at international level. There's no guarantee he will end up as good as people think.

Been a wonderkid on FM since the 2013 version.

There was a lot about this on Talksport over past couple of days - interviews with Tim Sherwood, his Dad etc...

Born and bred in Solihull with an Irish father. Like his manager and his Dad, I think he has good reason to play for either, and should choose the footballing nationality he feels most affinity with.

However, after his many glowing comments about the 'green shirt', it would now seem a little cynical for the U21 Irish player of the year to now select England.

Hopefully he does switch. Ireland are masters of stealing players from other nations.

Just what English football need in my opinion.

What the fuck has his haircut got to do with liking him or not?

He's young, fast, got great skill and is not afraid in keeping the ball.

Refreshing tbh!

Re: Young Villa player Jack Grealish
Both Martin Keown's parents are Irish (one from NI and one from Eire), but he obviously played for England.
His son, though, plays for Eire. Probably cos he's only good enough to play for Reading, so will never get anywhere near the full England team.

Don't think anyone here is moaning if he chooses England

We'd just all rather he picked us as we are so fucking bad that being able to trap a ball will earn him 50 caps

Fair few pissed off at O'Neill who has faffed around and not called him into the squads for the recent big games and got him involved if only as a squad member.

We've just left the door open for England to come in and snap him up

Good luck to the kid, plays with his head up

ALL HAIL TIM SHERWOOD

Tim Sherwood is a bit like Alan Pardew, participates in a lot of self-love.

He is just flavour of the month, was Ibe few months back with Wilson at the start of the season. He wont get in the England squad anytime soon. I suspect Ireland will call him up for that friendly which he will polity decline
